StudioSide
The Waveform lane displays the waveform, chords and beats around the current playback position. The playhead stays in a fixed position while the content moves beneath it.

Display
- Waveform: built from the audio Transpose receives during playback. Empty sections may not have been processed yet.
- Chords: appear above the waveform, with the active chord highlighted.
- Beats: appear below the waveform at the detected beat positions.
- Markers: thin vertical lines show saved marker positions.
- Loop boundaries: coloured A and B lines mark the active loop. A marker at the same position is not drawn twice.
Controls
Drag the waveform beneath the fixed playhead to change playback position. Dragging is silent from both Play and Pause. Edit markers and loop boundaries on the Timeline.
Show or hide the lane in Edit scene. Music analysis enables waveform capture and display.
Chords, key, beats and tempo
Choose Install chord and beat analysis in the lane if the analysis tools are missing. This installs the models and enables waveform, chord and beat analysis. The waveform itself does not require this installation.
Use Chords and key and Beats and tempo to enable or disable the corresponding analyses. Results appear as the song plays and is processed.
- Key: the detected key appears in the expanded Transpose card. Click the key to set it manually; your choice is stored with the song.
- Tempo: Speed uses the detected BPM unless you have entered or tapped a tempo yourself. The displayed BPM follows playback speed.
Chords, key, beats and tempo are estimates; accuracy depends on the recording and musical complexity. These analyses require WebGPU; the waveform remains available without it.
During YouTube ads
When Transpose recognizes a YouTube ad, it pauses the song timeline and Stem Mix playback. The ad’s audio is not captured or analysed. Your analysis and mix choices are retained for when the song resumes. This does not apply to every ad or website.
Remove analysis
After installation, Remove analysis appears when you hover over the lane. It deletes this song’s waveform, chords, beats, detected tempo, detected key and cached source audio. Existing stems, markers, loops and clips are retained, as is a manually selected key.
The lane and Music analysis stay enabled. Audio played afterwards is analysed again.
