Data Processing and Compliance
Transpose (operated by Tune73 B.V.) is an independent data controller under GDPR. We don’t process data on behalf of schools or other organizations and therefore don’t sign individual Data Processing Agreements.
For Pro accounts, limited personal data (like email and subscription info) is processed for login and payment. This happens under GDPR-compliant agreements with our subprocessors, such as Firebase (Google) and Paddle.
Payments & communications
Pro subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles VAT, invoicing, and payment security under their own Privacy Policy.
Paddle may send you subscription-related emails such as receipts, renewal reminders, failed payment notices, and recovery prompts, as part of their Retain functionality. These communications are transactional, not marketing.
Permissions we request
By default, the extension does not require any browser permissions and works out of the box for YouTube.
Permissions are requested only when required for functionality:
- ActiveTab – connect to and control media playback on the active tab.
- Tabs – retrieve URLs and communicate with inactive tabs.
- Storage – save settings and history locally or in your account.
- Sidepanel – open the Transpose Pro interface next to the site content.
- Host permissions (optional) – for specific domains (e.g., Spotify, Deezer, embedded YouTube) to connect to their media players.
- TabCapture (optional) – capture audio for pitch-shifting when no media element is found.
Cookies
- Extension: Does not set or use cookies.
- Website (transpose.video): Uses cookies only for Google Analytics with IP anonymization, for aggregated usage statistics.
Third-party services
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, or any other third party whose services may be accessed through the extension.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- Restrict or object to its processing.
- Request data portability.
- File a complaint with your Data Protection Authority.
To request data deletion or changes, email privacy@transpose.video.
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 10, 2025
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Transpose Video browser extension and the website transpose.video (together the “Service”), provided by Tune73 B.V., trading as Transpose Video (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
Transpose Video lets you adjust pitch, playback speed, and loop sections of online videos and audio in real time.
The free version works out of the box for YouTube. Certain websites, including embedded YouTube videos, Spotify, Deezer, and other dynamic media platforms, require optional host permissions to connect to the HTML media element. If no media element can be found, TabCapture (audio only) may be used as a fallback for pitch shifting.
Pro features require sign-in with Google via Firebase Authentication and may require an active subscription.
1.1 Platform availability and compatibility.
The Service relies on third‑party sites and players that may change their code, policies, or access rules at any time. We do not guarantee availability or continued compatibility with any specific platform (e.g., YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Vimeo, etc.). If a platform opts out, blocks integrations, or it becomes technically impossible to connect, some or all features may stop working without notice. Device, browser, or OS limitations may also prevent the Service from functioning on certain setups.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old or have parental consent to use the Service.
3. Accounts & Authentication
Free features do not require sign-in.
Pro features require login with Google. We store your user ID, preferences, and history in Firebase until you delete them.
Your Google account information is processed according to Google’s Privacy Policy.
4. Payments & Subscriptions
Payments for Pro subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record (handles VAT, invoicing, and payment security).
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled.
Refund Policy: All sales are final. No refunds except where required by applicable law. No refunds are provided when third‑party platforms restrict, block, or remove the technical capability required for the Service, or when the Service cannot function due to technical limitations or incompatibilities on a user’s device, browser, or operating system (except where required by applicable law).
5. Browser Permissions
The Extension may request:
- ActiveTab – Control media playback on the current tab.
- Tabs – Retrieve URLs and communicate with inactive tabs.
- Storage – Store settings and history locally or in your account.
- Sidepanel – Open the Transpose Pro interface next to the site content.
- Host permissions (optional) – For specific domains (e.g., Spotify, Deezer, YouTube embeds) to allow connecting to media players.
- TabCapture (optional) – Capture and process audio when no media element is detected.
Permissions are requested only when required for functionality.
6. Data Usage & Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, non-identifiable usage data for performance monitoring and feature improvement.
No browsing history or personal identifiers are sent. IP anonymization is enabled.
7. License
A Pro subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license for personal use by a single individual. You agree not to share your account or subscription with others.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- Use the Service to infringe copyrights or violate laws.
- Reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss.
11. Requests for Privacy Agreements
We do not sign separate privacy agreements for end users. Privacy is already governed by this Policy, the Chrome Web Store policies, and applicable law.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country of residence, with EU/EEA users covered by GDPR.
