Install music analysis

Install the tools for recognizing chords, beats and instruments.

StudioSide

To recognize chords, key, beats and tempo, first download the analysis models. The waveform works without these models. Stem Mix uses separate models to split vocals and instruments.

Install in Side

  1. Open your song in Studio and choose Side.
  2. Find the Waveform lane with the waveform and music analysis. If it is hidden, choose another scene that shows it, or enable it through Edit scene.
  3. Choose Install chord and beat analysis in that lane and wait for the download to finish. Transpose then enables analysis.
  4. Play the song. Results appear as Transpose processes the music.

For Stem Mix, switch on the Stem Mix card in Side. On first use, Transpose downloads the models it needs.

Chord and beat analysis and Stem Mix require WebGPU. The waveform also works without WebGPU.

Turn music analysis off

If playback stutters or your computer is under heavy load, you can temporarily disable analysis:

  1. Open Settings from the menu button at the top right of Transpose.
  2. Go to Audio engine and turn Music analysis off.

This disables waveform capture and display, as well as chord, key, beat and tempo analysis. It does not delete stored results or downloaded models. To keep the waveform, turn off only Chords and key and/or Beats and tempo below Music analysis.

Stem Mix has its own switch. Turn it off on the Stem Mix card in Side as well to check whether instrument separation is putting too much load on your computer.

Free up space through Settings

Open Settings and scroll to Data & Reset. There are two separate actions:

  • Delete analyses and stems: deletes cached source audio, stems and analysis results for all songs on the sites named in the confirmation. Data on other sites and downloaded models remain.
  • Delete downloaded AI models: deletes the stem, chord and beat models. Prepared audio and analysis results remain. Download the required models again for new processing.

Both actions keep your library, history, preferences, scenes and account. Deletion frees storage space; turn analysis off to stop processing.

Remove data for this song only

Open the song in Side:

  • Expand the Stem Mix card and choose Remove stems to delete this song’s prepared parts and cached source audio. Waveform and music analysis remain.
  • Move the pointer over the Waveform lane and choose Remove analysis to delete this song’s waveform, recognized music information and cached source audio. Prepared stems remain.

These actions do not delete saved practice settings. See Reset and clear data for all cleanup and reset options.
