MIDI

Connect a controller, learn actions and manage bindings.

Studio

Studio lets you connect MIDI-controller buttons or pedals to Transpose. This keeps your hands on your instrument.

  1. Connect the controller. Open Settings, enable MIDI shortcuts and choose Connect MIDI.
  2. Grant browser permission if asked and select your device.
  3. Choose Learn beside an action, such as Play/pause, and press the button or pedal you want to use.
  4. Try it out. Connect volume, speed, pitch, loops and other actions in the same way.

If a button is already assigned, Transpose asks whether to move it. You can clear an assignment anytime. The last received input shows whether your controller is recognized.

MIDI controls Transpose here; it does not record music or play a software instrument.

Available actions

Control playback, navigation, loops, markers and sound adjustments. The complete keyboard and MIDI reference lists every action alongside its default keyboard binding.

Speed knobSpeed control, or separate down / up actions.

There are no default MIDI bindings. Your controller determines which message a button or knob sends; Learn captures that message in Transpose.

Keep the Transpose window or Side open while using MIDI. A closed popup cannot receive MIDI. Manage assignments in Settings in either view.
